Nice! Someone could build a new pair of Valencias among other possibilities with those. Hope for the buyer's sake that the seller is being honest that they've "never been out of the box and hooked up. I've had them sitting in my store, in boxes for 10 years..." FWIW, I kept a pair of basically NOS 421-8H up in the attic from 1970-2000 where the temp can peg a thermometer and rather surprisingly there was only minor goop thickening around the gasket perimeter, but the Styrofoam was bonded to the frame enough to require running a sharpened putty knife around the joints to pop them off.
The cones had sagged enough that it took baking face up for awhile out in Hotlanta's Summer heat to drop them back down. Since then they've been 'closet queens' and still weren't too badly offset or stuck to the Styrofoam a few years ago. Guess I need to check them again.
WRT the boxes they're stored in, they are 515B boxes stamped 10-02-03, yet have the more modern lettering style without the Lansing suffix, so have to wonder if those are the correct boxes for the components. Plus, if they've never been used, why is the 416 label heavily scuffed?
Oh well, not my 'problem', I just wish I'd taken advantage when a local offered me this same set, like new looking except used for $375 total back in 2000 and tossed them in the closet too.............

Yeah, where were they for 30 years before they sat in that guy's store? Can anyone date the set based on the packaging or other details? The boxes say Anaheim, CA...

If you obtained a serial, you may be able to determine.
40 years seems about right to me, as the 416 appears to be the same form as my 1973 (iirc) set.
Perhaps knowing when the 416 became a 16" frame would help establish a modernity cut-off. Check the old catalogs @ LH...
Too bad the drivers aren't all the same impedance.
I think that's the first time i've seen the tin can mag covers painted black, my WAG would be early 70's as i'm pretty sure they'd have been green in '69 or earlier, and the 416A's i've seen that were built on 16 inch frames(circa '73, '74 vintage) have had no covers on the mags or been 416-8B's.
